Tools that teachers can use in their classrooms for students with autism.
Sensory experiences: Children with autism may be under or over sensitive to different sounds, sights, smells, tastes, and textures.

You will want to be mindful about the different sensory experiences that you introduce to these children. Again, each child with autism is unique. What works with one child may cause a meltdown with another. There is going to be some trial and error, and that’s okay! Common sensory tools include: weighted blankets, sensory bottles or ​bins, sensory chews, and fidgets. Many teachers find it helpful to create a tool kit that includes several sensory items to use when a calm down period is needed.     ​
