Common Questions and Comments

"How often should I be providing activities that exercise emotional intelligence?"
~ Darci

There are many activities that you may already be implementing that support emotional intelligence. The best answer for this question is: as often as you can! It is even better if you can make the activity a joint effort by including social and emotional intelligence into the activity. This way the children are learning about their own emotions as well as other’s!

"What if I have a child that has a hard time verbally expressing their feelings?"
~ Aurelia
It is important to remember the child’s developmental stage may have a lot to do with this. You may want to consider adding or altering the emotional intelligence activities that are offered in your classroom. Role playing is a wonderful way to teach children about their own emotions and appropriate ways of expressing themselves during moments of escalated emotions.
